KENYON APPOINTS NEW VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS
London, 1 July, 2014 – Kenyon International Emergency Services announced the promotion of Mr. Robert W. Rowntree to Vice President of Operations. Mr. Rowntree, a member of Kenyon’s leadership team, has direct responsibility for planning, implementing and directing all aspects of Kenyon’s international disaster response operations. He is based at the Kenyon office in Bracknell, United Kingdom.
Mr. Rowntree has been involved in a broad variety of deployments worldwide. He led Kenyon's response in Libya in 2010, Namibia in 2014 as well as responded to major incidents in Italy, Haiti, Canada, and Algeria. In addition, he supports numerous repatriation operations in areas such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Mozambique and Australia.

Most recently Kenyon’s Director of Operations, Mr. Rowntree has been with the organization since 2001. Prior to that and other full-time roles within Kenyon, he was a Kenyon team member deploying at-need on behalf of Kenyon clients. On his most recent major deployment in November 2013, he was the Senior Incident Director for an African aviation disaster response including supervising and coordinating the successful efforts of disaster victim identification, international repatriations, cataloging of personal belongings, family assistance support as well as crisis communications on behalf of the client.
Before joining Kenyon, Mr. Rowntree worked in the funeral industry for 25 years. He is a licensed funeral director and embalmer, currently holding the position of National President of the British Institute of Funeral Directors and the Cooperative Funeral Service Managers. Robert is an active member of the Emergency Planning Society and is regularly asked to speak at conferences and seminars on topics around disaster management.
Mr. Rowntree has achieved his Bachelor of Arts, with honors, in Business Management and Administration and is currently a guest lecturer at a number of universities throughout the United Kingdom.
